"Hi, my name is Freya.
My mum is one of the goats that provides the fresh milk for your soap."
Let us introduce the boys and girls of the Bluehills Herd. The milking mums provide the fresh milk for all the soap on goatsmilksoap.co.uk
They graze on the slopes and hills of North Herefordshire that you can see in the photo above.
Alinus is our breeding buck and sire to our kids. He's a great looking male from the Aureum Herd in Norfolk. He has a lovely temperament and loves people and cinnamon bagels.
Freya is a wonderfully healthy, bouncy and energetic girl with a dark coat and long legs. She has a real habit of getting into trouble.
She often gets her head stuck trying to get through fences or sticking her head through to nibble that last juicy bit of bush.
The matriarch of the herd, Dionne now lives in semi-retirement. She is Dee's sister, was our first Golden Guernsey goat, and the eldest female. She keeps the other girls in line and sets the pecking order.
Dee is Dionne's younger half sister but is very different in colour, almost white. Dee is very keen when it comes to milking time and the chance to get her head into a bucket of feed.
She's the only one who's worked out how to get over the fence into the garden so she can feast on the delights within.
Serene is Dionne's daughter and her dad is the famous Golden Guernsey breed champion Cowcombe Oswald. He was awarded 'Best in Show' at the National Breed Show 2005 and 'Reserve Best in Show' in 2006 .
You have items in your Basket.
Our soap is vegetarian and made in the old-fashioned way using the 'cold process'.
Our soap is handmade from scratch from natural ingredients.
We do NOT use bought-in 'melt and pour' mixes that produce inferior 'instant' soap bars.
We do NOT use bought-in powdered goats milk.
The fresh goats milk we use comes from our own herd of rare-breed Golden Guernseys that graze on the rural pastures of Herefordshire. You can find out more about them on the Bluehills Herd web site.
